January 17, 2019 Charlotte, NC - Harvard Business School (HBS) Alumni Club of Charlotte announced today their annual donations to Charlotte area non-profits will be $80,000, bringing their total donations to $700,000+.

Spanning more than a decade, the donations are derived from surplus tuition monies from their Management Development Program (MDP), a “mini MBA” style course.

A favorite with companies in the Charlotte region, the course is taught by Harvard Business School alumni to mid-level executives and offers the chance to study business one night a week for 13 weeks with a roster of some of the most prominent CEOs, Presidents and Managing Partners in the Charlotte region.

"Making a difference in our community is part of our mission statement, and a creed of Harvard. Thanks to the MDP program we have made more than 700,000 differences,” commented HBS Club President Juergen Seybold, President of Lutze, Corp. Also, starting in 2015, we’ve awarded 9 tuition grants to non-profit leaders to attend a Harvard Business School program titled “Strategic Perspectives in Non-Profit Management (SPNM).”

After attending the program in 2018, Daniel Fogarty, Executive Director at Beds for Kids Charlotte, a previous tuition grant recipient commented, "SPNM is a game changer. I have had the opportunity to be involved in many continuing education programs in my career but none of them compare to my time at HBS. Meeting peers from around the world to share insight and gain prospective has challenged and equipped me to sharpen my skills and better serve my organization. The amazing professors and attention to detail by the program staff set HBS apart from the rest. If any leader of a non-profit has the chance to attend SPNM, do not pass it up!"

Representatives from the winning non-profits will be on hand to receive their award at the January 22, 2019 Management Development Program Celebration, which will be held at Olde Providence Racquet Club from 6:00-8:00 pm.
